Wow Kids 2011

Wow Kids! meets every Wednesday starting March 16 at 6:00 pm and runs for 6 weeks.  Each evening begins with a meal and a time of fellowship followed by music, a story, and a lesson time.  The evening concludes with a craft and game time.

Wow Kids! is open to all grade school age kids and is free to all.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your children to interact with fellow Christians and learn more about the love of Jesus Christ.

This spring’s theme is The Search for Treasure.  We hope to see you there!

For more information, contact Art Holden at 605-371-3928 or use the contact form here.

The service will include sharing the Sacrament of Holy Communion as Jesus did with the disciples and draping of the cross in black to remember our Savior’s sacrifice in a visual way.  We will also be sharing a Seder meal with Pastor Dave presenting it in a similar fashion as it was served in the Upper Room.

Maundy Thursday service is April 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, March 8, Barbara Thomson will be leading a  Bible Study from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.  The study book is Women of the Bible:  A One Year Devotional Study of Women in Scripture by Ann Spangler and Jean Syswerda.

If you are interested or have questions, contact Barbara at 336-835, or come to the meeting Tuesday evenings.

You are invited to join Pastor Dave every Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m.

This is an opportunity to explore the various books of the bible together – perhaps more in-depth than you have before.

You do not need to be a member of Wild Flower to attend, and it is not necessary to have studied the Bible before.  This is a casual and fun opportunity to grow in you faith and knowledge of God’s word.

Our children’s Christmas program was a bunch of good fun.  This year the kids from WoW performed Santa Gives Back Christmas, a fun play where Santa, the elves and the reindeer tell the story of the Birth of Jesus.

We’ve posted the photos on our Facebook page, you can view them here.

Calling all kids through 5th grade.  Join us Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm to 7:30 pm for a fun night of bible stories, games, crafts and prizes.

Don’t worry about cooking Wednesday, we’ll feed the kids a light meal at 6:00pm.

WoW Kids is free and open to the public.  It is a fun way for youth in the community to experience the love of Christ and to grow in their walk with Jesus.

We are in need of volunteers to help with preparing the meals or assisting with craft projects, please contact Art Holden or Vicki Leuking if you’d like to help.

Invisible Heroes: Footsteps to the Cross
By Jim Lewis (brother to Jeff and Mark)

I would like to recommend the book, Invisible Heroes: Footsteps to the Cross, written by my brother Jim. We
have a signed copy in our church library that I hope everyone takes the opportunity to read. I could possibly be a little biased since the author is my brother. Nonetheless, I have read the book and feel that all who do will come to the
realization that there is more to being a hero than trophies, wealth and earthly accolades. The focus here is on the daily lives of others,–most of whom you will know–and how they inspire others through their friendship, words and actions while they take their own journey to the cross.
Each chapter profiles an individual whose caring, selflessness, discipleship, integrity, courage, compassion and repentance have made a difference in their own lives and the lives of countless others. Please take the time to read the book, and as you do, also take the time to reflect on how your daily life is an inspiration to others.

My nephew Jason (my sister Janice’s son) is a graphic artist and helped my brother by designing the cover. If you would like to purchase a copy, there are instructions on how to do so listed in the book. All profits from the sale of this book go to the church my brother and sister-in-law attend in Conklin, MI. The book will soon be available at Barnes & Noble as well as Amazon.com. Enjoy it – I did!

We’re starting youth group off right this year. What could be more fun than humiliating our new pastor at
Mario Kart, owning Art at Ban Hero or making Vicki weep during Wii Bowling?
Youth Group starts off with a fun night of pizza, fellowship and videogames. Feel free to bring your friends and join us Wednesday night, September 8 from 6-7:30 p.m. Pastor Dave is excited to meet everyone!
Youth Group is for any youth in Middle School through High School and their friends.
